Plural nouns and uncountable nouns usually use the articles “some” or “any”, or often with no article at all. We use some and any when we are talking about limited but indefinite numbers or quantities. We don’t use an article when we are talking about unlimited numbers or quantities. Compare the following two pairs of sentences:
